On Friday, May 16, Animal Humane Society rescued 61 cats from a potential wildfire evacuation zone in northeast Minnesota. With their former caretaker’s cooperation and assistance from local animal advocates, the cats were safely transported to AHS where their needs are currently being evaluated. Though they’re largely friendly and clearly well-loved, some have medical needs that require immediate attention, such as spay/neuter surgeries and possible eye issues.

When animal lovers in our community find themselves overwhelmed or facing an emergency scenario, they turn to AHS. But we can only meet their needs with your support.
