Sparrow’s family couldn’t afford the necessary surgery they’d been quoted at their local pet hospital. They made the difficult decision to surrender her to Animal Humane Society so she could receive the medical care she needed — but thanks to community support, AHS can provide low-cost, expert veterinary care to pets with financial barriers.
Sparrow received the surgery she needed for thousands less than her caretakers expected, and their family was able to stay together.
Share Sparrow's story on Facebook. Visit the Walk for Animals event page and share Sparrow's story — and a link to your personal fundraising page — with your network. Not fundraising on Facebook? Copy and paste Sparrow's photo and story to share via email or another social media platform.
