For 48 years we’ve proudly walked with passionate animal lovers like you at the Walk for Animals. This year, the Walk may be different but that passion remains.
Like so many others in the world, Animal Humane Society is closely monitoring the current COVID-19 emergency and taking every precaution to protect the animals in our care as well as animal lovers in our community. After reviewing expert recommendations from the CDC (Centers for Disease Control), WHO (World Health Organization), and MN Department of Health, we've made the decision to host the 49th Annual Walk for Animals virtually. This means you can choose to walk in your own neighborhood, at a nearby park, or even on a treadmill at home.
While this is incredibly disappointing, the health and safety of our community is our top priority.
We're counting on our supporters now more than ever to ensure we can continue to provide exceptional care to animals. Although we may not be able to physically walk together on Saturday May 2, we can still stand together to make the world a more humane place for animals.
In this time of flux and uncertainty, it can be comforting to think about the things that remain steadfast and unchanging. No matter what's happening in the world, love will not be cancelled. Making a difference will not be postponed. Second chances will not be rescheduled. Animal lovers like you can still change lives by participating in the Virtual Walk for Animals.
We’re #stillwalking and there’s reason to get in on the action early! The first 500 people to register and raise $50 by March 24 will earn a special early bird prize. Let’s just say that this secret prize is going to come in handy on May 2!
Search for a specific walker or team to make a donation and support their fundraising efforts.
As a result of converting the Walk to a virtual fundraiser, we're reassessing our volunteer needs. Available volunteer opportunities will be posted soon.
