This is going to be the best Walk yet! I've had 15 Walk for Animals under my belt so let's knock this one out of the park (or fairgrounds)! The kiddos and I are excited to embark on another Walk to help animals right here in Minnesota. And we need your help!
Pets are essential. They bring joy to our lives when we need it most. They are the perfect greeters when you walk in the door (as long as they haven't left you any accidents), and they know just how to turn your world upside down - for the better.
Addy (my yorkie) or Miss Addy-tude as they affectionately call her at doggy daycare is almost 13 years old now (and she has no intention of slowing down). She still has just as much sass as ever! Despite appearing to only use me for toys and treats, I do think deep down she really loves me. She joined my family after the loss of my sweet girl, Harley. Her spunky (and diva-like qualities) helped me work through my loss and opened my heart to another animal in need of love.
After more than two and half years working at Animal Humane Society, I started fostering. Suddenly I found myself falling in love with an adorable shih tzu puppy named Sevi. He stole my heart like no other and provided the snuggles and face licks I was craving (he still licks like crazy - which is cute about half of the time). He needed a home to call his own and a mama to love him and it was then that I knew I was going to foster fail - he joined his big sister and me permanently and these last SEVEN years have flown by. Nicknamed Sevi Bear, he's my cuddlebug - a role his sister is happy to pass off to him.
My heart expands daily because I witness firsthand how your support of Animal Humane Society makes a difference in the lives of so many animals. We care for thousands of dogs, cats and critters each year - providing medical and behavioral care, foster support, food, love, and a safe haven until the animals find a new loving home to call their own. We also support our community through outreach programs (vaccine clinics, free pet food and supplies, and our temporary pet housing program), low-cost veterinary care, training classes, educational programs for kids, and investigate cases of abused and neglected animals. We work hard to keep people and pets together and it's why I feel so proud and privileged to work here.
The Walk for Animals is our largest annual fundraiser and 16 years is something to be celebrate!! Please consider helping Addy, Sevi, and me reach our goal of raising $1,000 this year to help animals in need find new homes and new beginnings. We are so thankful for you and hope you will continue to help the many four-legged friends who need our love and support.
Any amount you can give to help us reach our goal will help make a big difference in the lives of our furry and feathered friends!
Thank you again for your love and support!
