Walk for Animals 2022:
I am looking forward to participating in the Animal Humane Society's Walk for Animals again this year! The Walk is such an impactful and inspiring event. The energy is palpable when so many animal lovers come together to show support for our local shelter. For the last two years the Walk for Animals was held virtually and I am so thrilled that this year's event will be in-person!! Because the need is still great, I have set a fundraising goal of $2000. Last year, you all blew me away with your generosity and love and helped me raise almost $1800. Can you help me reach my goal again this year?
This is my AHS story:
I have been connected to the Animal Humane Society since 1995, when we adopted our first dog, Chester. From 2008-2013 I worked at the Golden Valley shelter part-time, and now I have been volunteering with the dogs in Coon Rapids since 2015.
AHS does incredible work and I'm proud to be part of it. AHS is an open admissions shelter that does not turn an animal away for any reason. And yet, they have a 95% placement rate, which actually meets the requirement to be called a "no-kill shelter", though typical no-kill shelters have selective admissions.
If a special animal has touched your life or if the AHS has made a positive impact on you or your pets, please consider donating to the cause!
